OCM Manufacturing Lead-Free Process Validated by CE Analytics



Ottawa-based contract electronics manufacturer OCM Manufacturing today announced that the company’s lead (Pb)-free manufacturing process has been validated by independent measurement experts, CE Analytics.

CE Analytics is part of Cookson Electronics (www.cooksonelectronics.com), a leading supplier of high performance assembly materials, semiconductor packaging, specialty chemicals and coatings used in the electronics assembly and surface finishing industries. CE Analytics’ Lead-Free Validation Program provides a single source solution for lead-free materials, technology expertise and analytical services to validate lead-free manufacturing processes.

Mike Trosky, Applications Engineer at CE Analytics, confirmed, “Based on our evaluation, OCM Manufacturing’s Pb-Free Process Capability to produce finished assemblies is now validated. This is a significant step in OCM’s transition to Pb-Free processing as many companies have had difficulty demonstrating their capability to produce Pb-Free assemblies that comply with all the applicable standards.”

Michel Jullian, CEO of OCM Manufacturing said that the validation of OCM’s process is the final step in completing the company’s lead-free manufacturing offering: “We now have a complete lead-free offering for our customers who require lead-free status in their electronics products. This is an important stage of growth for OCM and we are pleased to be one of the first contract manufacturers in Ottawa to be lead-free capable.”
