Environmental Restrictions are Tightening for Electrical and Electronics Products

North American manufacturers who wish to export their goods to European Union member states must demonstrate that their products meet the guidelines of ROHS: Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations.

ROHS bans electrical and electronic equipment from UK markets if that equipment contains more than the agreed levels of lead (Pb), cadmium, mercury and other substances.

Although ROHS regulations have been in place since 2006, enforcement authorities continue to tighten the requirements and lift exemptions. OCM Manufacturing has been prepared for ROHS and other manufacturing requirements related to hazardous substances and electronics waste since before the legislation was enacted, even providing a lead-free transition service.

OCM Expansion Update

Expansion construction at OCM continues and we expect our second line and larger assembly, shipping and receiving areas to be in production before Winter. The expansion will also enable us to provide more comprehensive box-build services.

CAN-GO AFAR logoOCM recently sponsored the installation of water filters in the community of Ko’odiya in the Afar Region of Ethiopia. Funds from OCM helped to pay for 50 Household BioSand water filters – enough to provide clean water to 200 households, or approximately 1,200 people.
